Stronger Together, Join the Movement

When Rachel was just 7 years old, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She spent a year in the hospital enduring treatment, relapse, and finally a life-saving bone marrow transplant donated by her sister. The resulting brain injuries took away her ability to speak and understand language.

Rachel’s fight became the heartbeat of Team #RachelStrong. What started as a family’s desperate hope has grown into a movement that has raised over $700,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Her story has inspired the Stronger Together Award, a national recognition presented at Light The Night to honour Friends & Family teams across Canada who turn personal battles into movements of hope.

Today, Rachel proudly carries her white lantern of survivorship. But our journey is not over. With ongoing therapies, hospital visits, and constant checkups, cancer is never far from our minds. More research is urgently needed to ensure brighter futures for children and families facing blood cancers.

That’s why your support matters.

Your donation powers the research that gave Rachel a second chance, and it fuels the progress that will one day end blood cancers for good.

Together, we can raise more lanterns of courage, remembrance, and survivorship.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking with us. You are proof that we are truly stronger together.

Do you have a story to tell?

As a supporter, in memory, or as a survivor… share with others why you are helping end blood cancers by participating in a Light the Night Walk
