Pediatric Cancer Advocate | Founder of Team Cole | Educator & Healthcare Professional
Lisa Mechor is a passionate advocate for pediatric cancer awareness, inspired by her own family’s journey and a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and families affected by cancer.
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Education, Lisa began her career as an educator before moving into healthcare administration. For over a decade, she managed a medical practice, bringing together her background in education and healthcare to navigate the complex landscape of pediatric cancer with insight and empathy.
Lisa’s advocacy is personal. Her son’s courageous battle with cancer became the foundation of her mission, leading her to share her experience in a published anthology that gives voice to the emotional and practical realities families face. Her writing and advocacy shine a light on survivorship—pushing for treatments with fewer long-term side effects and comprehensive care that supports a child’s full journey to health.
In 2024, Lisa founded Team Cole in honor of her son and joined the Light the Night initiative to raise awareness and critical funding for pediatric cancer research and family support services. Through heartfelt storytelling and community leadership, she’s built a powerful network of support and action.
Today, Lisa continues to inspire and empower others—ensuring that no family faces pediatric cancer alone, and every child has a chance to grow up strong, healthy, and thriving.
